OETG #5 – 26 November

Although lines 41- 51 were the focus this week, I thought I’d share here just a few lines of our Google Doc. The doc is home to all sorts of discussions and notes… and everything is a draft and speculative, so don’t judge us too harshly!

A lot of the discussion in the group today was around our preferred translation style, and the artistic urges that we fight (or give in to!) when translating. Katherine got round choosing a definite version of her lines by offering up both!

Do you keep track of your translations as they develop? What wins for you: translating style, meter, alliteration, or just doing whatever it takes to get a pleasant and readable new version?
