Manuele Gragnolati: Diffracting Dante’s Paradiso

Tuesday 3 November, 18.00-20.00
Diffracting Dante’s Paradiso: Transformation, Identity, and the Form of Desire
Council Room (K2.29), King’s Building, Strand Campus
Manuele Gragnolati (Professor of Italian, Paris IV-Sorbonne) will give a talk inspired by Donna Haraway’s concept of “diffractive reading”, which proposes to read Dante’s Paradiso through texts by twentieth-century authors Pier Paolo Pasolini and Elsa Morante, who have confronted Dante, either directly or obliquely, from a queer and feminine/feminist position.
